The Nuggets have reached the midpoint of the season; 41 games have been played and 41 games remain. They currently have a 27-14 record which puts them on pace for a 54 win season. Here are some preseason predictions:

Given what you know now and what you expect for the remainder of the season; what sort of record do you think the Nuggets will end the season with?

Personally, I see them with a record in the low 50's, probably 53 or so.

Actually, it means plenty. Our schedule so far has been harder than yours, yet we still have a better record. Our schedule gets easier, and your schedule gets harder. I'm betting unless Kidd or Dirk get injured, we finish at least 5 games ahead of you. I wouldn't be surprised if you finish as a fourth seed, either.

What is your point? The regular season means nothing once playoffs start. You are just jizzing your pants over the possibility of finishing ahead of the Nuggets.

Yeah, totally jizzing. You know, since we've only finished with a better record 12 of the last 13 years.

I'm not worried about the playoffs. We're probably going to make a trade and get even better, anyway.

Right, he's not on their team. I was going to put a "(assuming all these players are on your team)" note.

It's possible we get a big free agent this season and next offseason (unlikely), or one or the other (pretty likely), or neither (unlikely). It depends on what's available to us this season and next offseason. You can't deny that we have assets, though.

2 reasons:

1. Josh Howard seems more and more expendable every day.
2. Because we've already been rumored to be in trades, specifically with Utah saying that there were talks about Boozer.

Doesn't mean that 2010 won't matter.
