Clippers Sign J-Will

The Los Angeles Clippers, who have undoubtedly been the most active NBA team this offseason, has refused to take the foot off the gas. In addition to recent free agent acquisitions Ricky Davis and Brian Skinner, they have now come to terms on a one-year deal with guard Jason Williams; financial terms have not yet been disclosed.

Williams, a one-time NBA Champion (2006), has spent time with Memphis, Miami, and Sacramento throughout his 10-year NBA career, in which he has held accumulative averages of 11.4 points and 6.3 assists per game. Appearing in 67 games for the Heat this past season, “White Chocolate” scored 8.8 points and dished 4.6 assists per contest, while shooting his worst field goal percentage clip (38.4%) since the 2001-2002 regular season (38.2%).

The 32-year-old guard will add a veteran backup point guard behind Baron Davis, and allow Clippers head coach Mike Dunleavy to insert a prolific ball handler when Davis catches a blow.

You can’t really go wrong with this one. J-Will is pretty washed up, but a one-year deal and a minimal role is exactly what his value is at this point. Another solid pickup by the Clips.

    Bye-bye Shaun Livingston.
