The Los Angeles Clippers have continued their high offseason activity, as they’ve agreed to terms with swingman Ricky Davis. The deal runs two years in length, worth approximately $4.7 million total, and contains a player option for the second year of the contract.
Davis was acquired by the Miami Heat from the Minnesota Timberwolves via trade just prior to the 2007-2008 season, where he held averages of 13.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. As a starter in 47 of the 82 games he appeared in this past season, the 28-year-old offensive spark put up 15.4 points, five rebounds, and 4.1 assists per contest. Davis also shot a career-best 40.5% from three-point territory (unless you’d prefer to count his 2000-2001 campaign, in which he hit 1-1 from beyond the arc).
The 10-year NBA veteran will add versatility and depth at both wing positions, alongside rookie Eric Gordon, Cuttino Mobley, and soon-to-be sophomore Al Thornton.

I guess this is solid for the Clips. They got Ricky relatively cheap, based on his talent level, and he was probably the best Corey Maggette replacement on the market. The wing rotation will be tight though; I just hope Al Thornton’s playing time doesn’t get cut a bit short.
Ricky has tons of talent, he just doesn’t have the desire at times. This is still a solid move for the Clippers for sure though, he will score.
Wow, that was really all he could get? Joe Dumars, you couldn’t pony up more than that? wtf.
Nope, Dumars was too busy playing phone tag with Kwa-may Brown.
