Nuggets Retain Smith

Roughly one month after trading Marcus Camby to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Denver Nuggets have announced that they have come to terms with swingman J.R. Smith; terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

Smith, a three-year NBA veteran, has spent the past two seasons in Denver, where he’s appeared in 137 regular season games for the Nuggets with an accumulative scoring average of 12.6 points per game, to go along with a 40% three-point shooting clip. As a starter in 24 games for the Nuggets two seasons ago (2006-2007), the highflying guard put up 16.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest.
