C.J. Miles Signs Offer Sheet With Oklahoma City

Restricted free agent C.J. Miles has signed an offer sheet with Oklahoma City, according to general manager Sam Presti. His former team, the Utah Jazz, have seven days to match the offer. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed as of now.

This is an interesting move. Miles hasn’t been a big contributor with Utah, but if you look at Jerry Sloan’s history as a coach, he has never been big on young guards playing minutes right away. He’ll probably get more minutes with Oklahoma City because their whole team is shaky, unlike Utah who is an NBA championship contender. Look for C.J. Miles to compete with Damien Wilkens for minutes at the backup shooting guard spot. He’s never going to start though as long as Durant is on the team.

Well, he’s a better option than Mikael Gelabale, so this can’t hurt them.

It’ll be interesting to see if Utah matches, though. If I were the Jazz, I might let him go and see what Morris Almond can do with a slightly increased role next year.
