The Raptors are expected to go overseas to find their 13th roster piece, as the Israeli media claims that they have signed American point guard Will Solomon to a one-year deal worth approximately $2 million USD.
Last season, Solomon played for Turkey’s Fenerbahce, where he averaged 17.9 points and 3.9 assists in 21 Euroleague games. He has also played for four other European clubs, including Maccabi Tel Aviv, who were also rumored to be after his services.
The 30-year-old is well-known as one of the best high school players to ever come out of Connecticut. Following his high school days, he attended Clemson, where he graduated, and was then selected in the second round (33rd overall) by the Vancouver Grizzlies in 2001. During his lone season in the NBA with the Grizzles, he averaged 5.2 points in 62 games.
Solomon was teammate of Anthony Parker, when Maccabi Tel Aviv upset the Toronto Raptors in a preseason game three years ago. He is regarded as one of Europe’s best players, and has mutiple championships with several European clubs, including winning the Turkish Basketball League Championship the past two seasons.

And this has now been made official by the Raptors.
