Warriors Match Offer Sheet

The Golden State Warriors were rumored to have come to terms with free agent swingman Maurice Evans to replace their very own restricted free agent Kelenna Azubuike, who signed a three-year offer sheet worth $9 million with the Los Angeles Clippers. However, Evans decided to take the DeShawn Stevenson route, and hold out for more money. As a result, the Warriors have decided to match the Clippers’ offer sheet for Azubuike, keeping him in Oakland for the next three seasons.

Azubuike appeared in 81 games for Golden State last season, averaging 8.5 points and four rebounds per game. The two-year veteran held career highs in scoring (8.5 PPG), rebounding (4.0 RPG), assists (0.9 APG), steals (0.6 SPG), blocks (0.4 BPG), games played (81), games started (17), and minutes per game (21.4) this past season.
